Life in the Globalized Love Community

HomeHappiness Through ServiceOct 22, 2007
"I know not what your destiny will be, but one thing I know: the only ones among you who will be truly happy are those who have sought and found how to serve." - Albert Schweitzer

Sacrifice really means giving up something good for something better, giving up the good now, for the great later. When a person has a vision that goes beyond self, one that focuses on an important cause that has personal deep value and powerful emotional connection, then there is no resistance to put service to others above self.

To an outside observer it would appear to be a sacrifice because some present good is being denied. Rather than being difficult to do, sacrifice becomes a natural choice to one who is deeply, spiritually and emotionally connected to a cause, or a calling, or the serving of another.

- Stephen Covey, paraphrased by ... me!

I pray for everyone... more

Liverpudlian Lowe was given a standing ovation by Bury fans at Hillsborough in Bury’s 4-1 defeat to Wednesday on March 6, despite the striker’s goal and two assists against his old club “It was a weird feeling, to be honest,” Lowe told the Bury Times of his performance that night.
